Let's talk fast.
You spent hours making that website look perfect: elegant, attractive, and in line with the brand. You had the product photos, the banners, the entire aesthetic meticulously crafted. But do you know what most brands forget?
The damn image names.
Yes. Those little .jpg and .png files hidden behind the curtain? They're talking to Google, your customers, and the algorithm gods... and if you don't name them properly, you're missing out on free SEO power, better accessibility, and a cleaner workflow. So let's fix that, folks.

Regla n.° 1: dejar de subir contenido "IMG_0345.jpg"
That's not a name. That's your camera wasting time.
Name your images with intention and purpose, just like everything else on your site.
❌IMG_9482.jpg✅ frente-mazo-tarot-oraculo-del-caribe.jpg Use keywords.Use logic. Make it mean something.

Rule #2: Use hyphens, not underscores or spaces
Spaces in URLs become %20. That's awful.
Underscores? Search engines treat them like glue. But hyphens?
Wow!

Rule #3: Write everything in lowercase. Stay calm.
You're not yelling at your browser. You're naming files.
All lowercase, no drama.

Rule #4: Add the flavor of SEO
Your image titles are an excellent resource for keywords.
Is that product "handmade in Tulum with organic coconut oil"? Thank goodness!
✅ organic-coconut-body-oil-Tulum.jpgDon't spam. Be authentic. But include the keywords people are searching for.

Rule #5: Organize Like a Zen Master
Create a naming system and stick to it like it's your barber's fade routine.
Here's a plan:
css CopyEdit [category]-[subcategory]-[description]-[size/variant].[extension]
Examples:
• product-lip-balm-mint-mini.jpg• blog-spiritual-wellbeing-tips.jpg• event-jungle-retreat-mexico-2025-banner.webpIf you have different versions, label them.
• banner-home-page-retina.jpg• logo-thl-square-white.svg
Bonus: Use a spreadsheet if you're interested
Categorize your images as a mature brand:
Category | Subcategory | Description | File name |
|---|---|---|---|
Product | Bálsamo labios | Mint & Coconut | product-lip-balm-mint-coconut.jpg |
Blog | Rituals | Full Moon Tips | blog-tips-for-full-moon-rituals.jpg |
